The Waynesboro Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring their first Park to Park CITO and Poker Run Event on September 14. Meet at the River shelter (adjacent to the pedestrian bridge crossing the river) in Ridgeview Park.  The event will start promptly at noon, where the locations of the Poker Run caches will be distributed.  This event will take you to the 5 parks in the city of Waynesboro – Ridgeview Park, Basic Park, North Park, Constitution Park, and Coyner Springs Park.

While visiting each park, you will be participating in a CITO (Cache In Trash Out) event and are encouraged to collect any trash that can be found, as well as visit the cache containing the poker run cards.  Geocaching related prizes will be awarded to whoever has the best poker hand at the end of the run, and also to the person who collects the most trash from the parks.

What to bring – you, your GPS, and gloves for picking up trash.  Trash bags will be supplied by the Waynesboro Parks and Recreation Department.

Between 4:00 and 4:30 we will reconvene at the River Pavilion in Ridgeview Park, and will reveal the poker hands and award prizes promptly at 4:30.

For those that are new to geocaching, or will be bringing along friends or family that are new to the sport, there is an Introduction to Geocaching class being held in Ridgeview Park the same day from 10:00am to 11:00am, just before this event, also at the River Shelter.
