Cultural Commission announces Short Film Competition

filmThe Waynesboro Cultural Commission has announced the 2013 Waynesboro Short Film Competition.

The third annual competition is open to residents of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky, Tennessee and North Carolina in two age categories: Youth 20 and under and Adults 21+.

Your submission should be no longer than 16 minutes in length (including credits).  All genres of short film are welcomed.

Enter your short film to win cash prizes and a chance to have your film screened with other finalists in Waynesboro.

Final judging will be by Daphne Maxwell Reid, who is best known as Aunt Vivian from the hit television comedy, “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”

Entries with a completed registration form must be received by the Waynesboro Cultural Commission by 5 p.m., April 1, 2013, or postmarked by that date.

There is a $10 entry fee.

Finalists will be selected from the submissions and screened on Saturday, May 4, 2013 (finalists will be notified of the screening details).

Winners in each age category will be announced at the screening.  There will also be an audience choice award.
