Mollie Cox Bryan to appear at the 18th annual Festival of the Book

Mollie Cox Bryan, author of SCRAPBOOK OF SECRETS: A CUMBERLAND CREEK MYSTERY (Kensington) will participate in the 18th Virginia Festival of the Book. The Festival, which takes place March 21-25, 2012, is held in venues throughout Charlottesville, Va. and is now the largest educational book event in the Mid-Atlantic, drawing more than 20,000 attendees each year.

Bryan, a Waynesboro resident, has just released her first mystery novel, which was named one of the best new mysteries by Barnes & Noble mystery expert. She will be taking part in the Crime Wave section of the festival and will be on a panel “Add Murder to My Resume.” She will also be signing her books.

Library Review says of SCRAPBOOK OF SECRETS: “This debut crafty cozy pushes its own envelope with themes of erotica and open marriage….Bryan introduces some dandy characters that will spin off well as the series unfolds.”

Bryan is also the author of Mrs. Rowe’s Restaurant Cookbook: A Lifetime of Recipes from the Shenandoah Valley (Ten Speed Press, 2006) and Mrs. Rowe’s Little Book of Southern Pies (Ten Speed Press, 2006).

She will be joining hundreds of authors, illustrators, storytellers, and other publishing professionals, including Jeffrey Deaver (Carte Blanche), Lee Smith (Mrs. Darcy and the Blue-Eyed Stranger) and Kathryn Erskine (Mockingbird).
